Deadline Reminder!

I'm sure all you hardworking writers are very much aware that the deadline for rough draft big_bang_hd submissions is only 10 days away (that's January 1st), but we would be remiss if we didn't mention it anyway. ;)

When you're ready to submit, please e-mail a Word or Text document to us at bigbangchallenge@gmail.com. In your email it would also be helpful if you identified 4-6 scenes you would most like to see illustrated, both by description and page number. Final, beta'd drafts are still due February 1st!

I forsee a lot of handwritten scenes while traveling, and then a few days of intensive typing to finish this damn thing up. But with any luck I WILL be done. A really rough, crappy first draft that hasn't incorporated my beta's suggestions version of done, but done.

God, as if I didn't know that and now when I see it written black on white I'm all like .

I swear I'm going to finish on time though I might drop dead in front of my pc before that. If I write about a chapter a day I will still have a couple of days left to reread and correct. Is that achievable? Fuck, I don't know. Yesterday afternoon I managed to about finish one chapter so maybe it is, but then again I wrote until 00.30AM *face-palm*

okay according to the infernal electronic deathtrap that keeps taunting me im at 65,310...and im just finishing the last part of the final chapter and just a quick epilouge to write...should have it in your mail box by Saturday...Sunday at the latest...most defintitely Monday I promise...oh alright..I don't know exactly but it will be there in the next 3-4 days...(oh it's just so...torturing getting to the end.)

I have a quick question...i've written my fic using Microsoft Works Word Processor...if I save it as a .txt file I lose all my italics...so can I send you both a .wps file and a .txt file for the rough draft and can you tell me if I have to change the whole thing over to a Word Doc...cause that's gonna take some time...like a real real long time...

Do you have Semagic? The livejournal client? Because one thing you can do is paste the works document as it is into the livejournal client in the rtf editor.

Then after you've done that, switch the editor over to html code format, and you should have it pre-coded for you. :D

You can also do something similar with FrontPage but Semagic is SO much easier to deal with. Let me know if that solves your problem, or doesn't. :)

We really don't. Your fic file will be uploaded for the artists as a Word file, so they will see your bold and italics as you do. We will want the HTML for the final draft and website though.

A quick question: If/when we submit the first draft, do we need a title? And if we do, can we change it later? Because while I may be able to finish before I have to go away to the land of no reliable computers, the likleyhood of my coming up with a good title in that time is kind of slim...

So I need to know desperately if the final version can include scenes that were not in the version due in two days. Please say it can. Because I think I won't be able to write the end as I'd like to otherwise.

Also, my version is very rough. Like, very, very rough. Is that a problem? How rough is 'rough'?

Yes, the final version can include scenes not in the rough draft. Just keep in mind that they won't have a chance to be illustrated, and any scenes that you *cut* from the rough draft may have artwork already done for it. Very rough is fine, we understand that a whole lot of polishing can be done in the course of a month, and will look forward to your finished product!

I hate this, I hate this, I hate this.

Not the challenge. Oh, no. The challenge is going great; I've written more in the past week to catch up to where I ought to be than I've written in an entire semester of college courses -_-'''

No, the problem is the same problem I always have: I'm within 2,000 words of finishing. That's easy. I can do that in just over an hour...except I can't, because it's the last 2,000. I could crank out more than 15,000 words in a day and be pleased with every single one of them, but invariably when I get down to that last final stretch, I can't do it. I get restless, I need to pee, I'm thirsty. Anything to keep me from siting down and putting "The End" on whatever I'm writing. I'm the same way with really good fanfic that I'm reading, too. I refuse to close off that world, even if I've been there for two bloody months and am so close to the end I can taste it. I'll read until the last page or two is left on the scrollbar and I'll just...stop. I can't make myself go on, because when I open my laptop, there's Solitaire. There's e-mail, message boards, even other fanfiction--all excuses to keep myself from closing off that world forever.

.::groans::. Somebody kick my arse for me. It won't go any more.

But I refuse to stop. I refuse to quit after 48,000 words, over 20,000 of which were written in the past two days. I won't let myself give up!
